This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 29, 2007:
the most sacred place i've been is my bedroom before i was married.
it was mine and mine alone.
it reflected all sides of me.
it was cozy and warm.
it was my home away from home
it had posters of johnny gill
it had books from octavia butler
it had drawings of my artistic side
it was mine and mine alone
my daybed was filled with pillows
and stuffed animals of every kind
my shaggy rug hid my paint stain
but it was mine; all mine
my favorite part; my window pane
large and facing the rising sun
i had a chair i painted red
to sit in and dream
i use to image it as an apartment
i use to pretend i was grown
i use to sing out loud and dance
because it was mine and mine alone
it was mine and mine alone.
it reflected all sides of me.
it was cozy and warm.
it was my home away from home
it had posters of johnny gill
it had books from octavia butler
it had drawings of my artistic side
it was mine and mine alone
my daybed was filled with pillows
and stuffed animals of every kind
my shaggy rug hid my paint stain
but it was mine; all mine
my favorite part; my window pane
large and facing the rising sun
i had a chair i painted red
to sit in and dream
i use to image it as an apartment
i use to pretend i was grown
i use to sing out loud and dance
because it was mine and mine alone

This is beautiful. I felt so at home just reading about your place; thank you.
May you be SO “at home” wherever in this world you may be!
Reminds me of aHhafiz poem which says something like “did you know that God is yours alone?” It stayed with me cause I didn't know quite what it meant but when I read your joy and freedom of your own space I think I understand a little more.
